spaces plans and buildings were finished in December 2016 and the Platform opened officially in March 2017. The Platform has been successfully settled in Gwangju as a new arts-experience space. It also has been a picnic destination for citizens and a core creative space for artists. Hologram Theater and Media Playground are paid spaces and the operating income from the spaces is reinvested in media arts development and exhibitions, so that they play an important role as a business model for sustainable development of culture. Also, the income is reinvested in Media Archive and Media 338 both of which are open for free. Those successful models make Gwangju’s dream of a long-term vision as a creative media arts city a reality.
